Join a museum educator in exploring how everyday items offer an insider's glimpse of what life was like 200 years ago.

Participants will learn about 19th century life as we examine, discuss, and "decode" artifacts from the teaching collection of the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts - ranging from shoe making tools to a candle mold.

“Decoding the Past” will be presented by Hilary May, Curator of Education at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts. Located in downtown Madison, METC explores American history with a focus on the life and stories of 18th- and 19th- century craftspeople and artisans. Drawing on its rich collection, METC is connecting the lives of people and their stories, while providing a bridge from the past to the future. For  information about METC, please call 973-377-2982 or visit  the METC website at www.metc.org."
