Beginning in France, The World’s Fair has been an international event for over two centuries. It began with trade fairs and business expositions in 1799, and followed the decline of guilds along with the influence of the Industrial Revolution. This program explores World’s Fairs for the last two centuries, plus a look at the World’s Fairs to come. Steve Pollack is a multi-talented, versatile, and experienced performer and lecturer. He sings in a range of styles and has performed in a variety of venues. Steve lectures on music, art and culture at universities, community centers, libraries, JCCs and retirement communities.
